Ethyl acetate is exported in sealed 180 kg drums that are approved for Class 3 liquids and carry the UN number and flammable-liquid labels. A 20 ft container usually takes 80 drums in two tiers — about 14.4 tonnes of product. The exact number depends on the drum type and on the weight limits of the shipping line and the roads at the destination, so we confirm the load plan with your booking.

Drums are kept upright, closures tight, and blocked and braced inside the container so they cannot shift during the voyage. Because ethyl acetate evaporates easily, sealed drums also protect the quality you receive at the other end.

Dangerous-goods shipping

As a Class 3 flammable liquid, ethyl acetate moves under the IMDG Code. In practice that means:

• DG acceptance first. The shipping line must approve the dangerous-goods booking before the container is stuffed. Not every line or vessel accepts every DG cargo on every route, so it pays to book early.
• Declarations. A dangerous goods declaration and a container packing certificate go with the shipment, and the container carries Class 3 placards.
• Costs and timing. Lines and terminals often charge DG surcharges, and some ports limit how long DG containers can stay in the yard.
• Ports. From Gujarat, west-coast ports such as Mundra, Hazira and Nhava Sheva (JNPT) are the usual gateways.
